The Karuna Foundation is based in Sydney, NSW Australia. Its mission is to identify, develop and assist community based projects to help children in developing countries. Working with our local partner in Cambodia, Cambodia Education Development Fund (CEDF), our project has been developed and managed to provide the basic clothing and shelter plus access to education that will ultimately lead to the improved quality of life for each child. With such support children will have a better chance to achieve life’s full potential. Importantly each project is locally supported by strong community involvement that ultimately will achieve sustainability.
Karuna’s initial project is a joint venture with CEDF based in the rural district of Varin and the town of Siem Reap. See our latest NEWSLETTER in "News & Events"
CRABHOUSE ...a Bloody Musical FUNDRAISING CONCERT
A BIG THANK YOU to all the friends of KARUNA FOUNDATION who helped us join in the fun on 9th May 2013 when Joe Kiely's production of "Crabhouse...a Bloody Musical" was performed to over 170 people at the Blue Beat jazz club, Double Bay.
Straight from its time off Broadway in New York City and after a successful season at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival we were treated to a night of amazing music, stunning performances and such brilliant original creativity.
Funds raised will help the scholarship education program launched on the evening.
If you could not join us but would still like to help with the scholarships or fund a Karuna project , sponsor a child or assist in one of many initiatives like funding school materials, uniforms, kitchen equipment, laptops etc you can do so by visiting the Donations page of this site. You can be assured that not more than 10% will be spent on administration costs.
